Hey, Fawn,

I understand what you are going through. My brother suffers from bi-polar illness, and at one time, he decided he would no longer take his medication. We tried, like you, to get him to see what effect it was having, but like your brother, he wasn't willing to see. Finally, we had to just let him get to the place where he was miserable enough to make his own decision, even though it meant not seeing him for two full years.

You are absolutely right to get your brother out of your house and let him make (or not make) the moves he needs. You can't do anything else unless he indicates that he will be a danger to himself or others. I know that's hard, and there certainly are no guarantees that he'll ultimately do what he must to become functional...but know that YOU are doing exactly what you must. You can't be useful to others if you're stressed to the point of being ill.

My prayers are with you and you bro...I know this is hard.

I mean, we all can take the easy road, but in this discussion the easy way out is death.
I think you have been an inspiration to me.
I would have never been so candid or personal here in this forum.
I am usually a quiet member.
Because I read your post, it gave me strength to accept all the bad things; the very bad things I did and celebrate the good things that came out of it all!
My tears and pain were pitty and weakness.
Sometimes we loose faith in ourselves but God never looses faith in us.
I have sent you a friend request because I feel who you are.
In separate ways but the same.
we both can relate to a sad story with a happy ending.

I think that you are the type of person that makes a great friend.
Because you cannot love another until you can love yourself.
I think we both proved that we can do that and be proud of it.

Wf as always has proven that there are still good people out here that listen and deeply care Fawn..I really don't know if i would have made the progress that i have with out you...YOU and everyone else here..and thats "REAL TALK"..(learned that from my experiences in another city). Just remember, It is not to ask of God but to put it in his hands..fully. All of our paths have been drawn..we all just have to be smart enough to follow as your brother does.

Thank you Kevalin so much for the perfectly worded comment.
I know you have some sense of this hard choice I had to make.
In July I had to throw him out.
I believe he was going to kill me.
His thoughts were very bipolar and irrational.
He applied for one job while he was here.
A trucking company to house him, educate him and employ him.
They never called back. I had to buy him smokes to keep the contention to a minimum.
He used my cell phone to the tune of 400.00.
my electric wow. stay up all night.
He would not see a doctor. Had to tell him to shower.
He was using my spare room, which I need access to in order to let my to dogs out.
he was upset that I woke him for that.
He would sleep all day an eat in the bedroom.
He never spoke to my husband unless I pressed him to eat with us.
He told me the woman he was married to, gave him everything, and expected nothing from him, was a B%#$
because she couldn’t find time between a 14 hour day as an executive to play video games with him.
My Brother has hit me before and knocked me out ,
so I could see this getting worse.
I told him to leave early.
My husband needed his home back.
after he left , his friend told me that he was very tiered of me being the boss and he was about to put an end to it.
wow .
I have my home back and he needs to make a choice.
Some people cant do for themselves and he is sick.
I know he is in GA now somewhere so Im glad of that. My 76 year old neighbor was frightened of him. he never left the house. never even saw my front yard.
Before he left , he told me, I never gave him a chance and distrusted him from the beginning and as he left the house .
he said goodbye to my husband and never even looked at me.
awful.
I’m so glad its over for me but his journey is not over.

Boy you have that right
We are among the nicest people I never met.
I have never had so many nice people around me.
Love this place and the great people I am surrounded by.
For the longest time I always wondered what my role was being a member.
There was so many things I wasnt doing.
Everyone here was so nice.
Thor told me I was doing fine as a member.
But One day it just hit me how to give back and through my words I have become an active member.
Thank you for the Friendship. Although we have always been friends,
Now it just makes it more personal

How are you doing? Have you heard anything about your brother?

I dont know anything. I did recieve a hospital bill out of GA but they wont tell me anything.

yes it is sad but maybe he is getting his life together. Who knows..all we can do is pray for him. Well I am going back to Ca to be close to my Mom..its the right thing to do. Once I get back I may not be online much because of access to a pc (all my pc and laptops were stolen..you know the story). So if you don't hear from me you will know why. I love you Fawn and will always be thinking about you.
