WAP hack, Free Wireless-Mobile-Internet

First I have this running for a vx8100 and vx5200 I will load a razor in a few days, and report. But ANYONE that attempts this please not I can not help you with any other phones, yet their is a wealth of information out their for you to search "WAP Hack #yourphoneversion#" @ google. I hope WickedFriends will come and add to this .

You will need to get HottProxy, I suggest you read the site information
DOWNLOAD.

*Step 1*
You will run files:

HoTTProxy.exe
HoTTProxy_Admin.exe

this will automatically set up.

http://localhost:8085
&
00.00.00.000:9201 <Your IP

*Step 2*
Load http://localhost:8085 into your browser.
It will be a nice GUI website.
Where you will begin step 3.

*Step 3a*
Set up accounts!
*Step B*
Users names.
I suggest creating account.

*Step C*
As well you will need to set up a password.
Venison has a password on your phone atomically programmed into it.
You can use the preset password.
Which is:

Either way I suggest you use same password for both accounts, for now.

*Step D*
You will not need to go any further with the account set up, because HottProxy had its Configurations set your default homepage set to http://wap.google.com, I suggest using a WARP friendly site.

*Step 3e*
Create the account.

*Step 4*
Re Programming WAP, Only for Verison . Some others can be found @ http://hopke.net/proxy/

-All of the WAP settings can be reset on a Verison phone, you will notice this option later.

1) Open the phone
2) Press OK on the NAV Pad to bring up the menu (this is the center button)
3) Press 0 seven times
4) Press 9 (WAP Settings)
5) Press 1 (Proxy Address Settings)
6) Press 1 (Primary Address)
7) Enter the name of the proxy server (Your IP address, will change if not static, I use comcast so I am good for a few months at a time. A nether option will be discussed later)
8) Press Clear
9) Press 2 (Proxy Port Setting)
10) Press 1 Primary Port
12) Enter the port of the proxy server (9201 is what HottProxy sets as default)
13) Press Clear
14) Press 3 (User Password the one you created or vzw)
15) Enter the password for the proxy server you want to use and SAVE
*Phone will reboot.
16) Homepage (preprogrammed http://homepage set to http://localhost for verison, I will discuss later for other options)
*Phone will reboot.

*Step 5*
Shutdown Hottproxy.exe and Hottproxy_Admin.exe
and restart them as well.

*Step 6*
Load your wireless INTERNET and you will be directed to GOOGEL wap.

*Discussion Notes*

Some phones will require you to Download and install Bitpim. Download an install a Hex Editor. Bitpim has a hexViewer. The Verison Chocolate will require this.

Now as for as programming your phone's homepage, this is the main reason that most phones will need to use Bitpim, As you will need to change you WebSession files on your phone because it is set by default to http://homepage http://www.hottproxy.org/tools/wsedit/wsedit.pl. I suggest you read this just so you understand the concept. So we can avoid many questions as people try this on their phones.

As for the Proxy address, it will need to be changed when your computers IP address changes.. Or I have heard about http://freedns.afraid.org/ and you will have some address (http://adam~~.afraid.org) you will use as your proxyaddress and freedns.afraid.org will automatically update itself to you new IP when you log into your site account so you will not have to reprogram. I will be testing this soon.

And I will be figure to obtain free ringtones and games useing this internet, so I hope you can look out for that as well, for its the real reason I went to find this hack.

And! one more thing, HotProxy has cookies enabled, this might sound werid, but figure that saved information is better then NumPading it in ever time. It saves them on your host computer.

And you can set Hottproxy up so that it start with your booting fo windows.

And it comes in raw pearl script so if you have unix box that is running, make a little cream on the side.

sorry to be asking the dumb question.....
but does it still requires to pay to the data connection to it?
i mean you neet an accesspoint in order to reach you proxy in the first place...
i dont get, what you do with it? and what it is for?

i currently got a 3g data plan which costs quite alot

If your phone allows you to change these settings then you can access your Proxy without any cost billed to your account. Version has disabled the ability to change the settings on their newer phones.

Yep, like chaitanya said, very old. For those of us who are behind a router or have troubles with HottProxy, there's always mycellconnect.com, which isn't free but its cheaper than most phone companys would charge.
