I just finished ordering parts to build my new PC.
My older Pentium 4 ( wich still runs fine ) ain't up to date annymore. After a lot of research, i came up with this : P5E motherboard 775 Socket Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 ( 2 x 3000 Mhz ) Corsair DIMM 4 GB DDR2-1066 Dominator EPP Kitt Arctic-Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU cooler Antec Nine Hundred Case Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB internal HDD XFX8800GTX 768Mb I think it will do just fine, anny comments however are welcome. |

Sounds good.. I need to update my desktop pc also
It's old, got it way back in 2002 i think, lol Newest thing on it is the LiteOn Dvd Burner I got at walmart for $45 I''ma buy me a laptop in September, a birthday gift to myself.. 15" screen, 250gb hd, 2gb ram, 768mb video card, 2.4ghz processor

My main box is an AMD duel core but I have a P4 extream 3.83ghz laptop. What OS are you going to run? 4gb of ram will only show all 4gb on Vista x64 right?

Correct on the Vista 64X. But i use memory intensive programs such as Virtual PC...and i may change to 64 Bit...

I do a lot of video editing so I can understand "memory intensive" lol. Nice rig! I am going to need to build one myself soon. Mine is about 3 years old. AMD 64 x2 4600+ Overclocked to 3.1ghz 3gig DDR dual Channel, Dual Nvidia 8600 gts video cards. 2 500gb hard drives. But the technology has bypassed me now and being the tech addict I have to get the new stuff! lol!
