Rom drive wont play DVDs

Does anyone know how i can fix my cd-rom drive i used to be able to watch dvd`s on the drive now it wont run but it plays cds

Ive tried looking for drivers but so far i cant find any

anybody got any ideas?

Drive is a CD-Rom HL-DT-STDVDRRW GSA-H21N

if its drivers ya need..get DriverMagic
other than that..any other dvd playing app like klite codecs should do the trick..
if not those..then the DVD read laser might be gone which means ya just needs another dvd player

If it used to play the DVDs and now it won't but still plays CDs, maybe clean the reading lens? Maybe check your device manager and see if everything is right. I didn't know that ROMs had drivers?

I've never updated any burner or ROM drivers I ever owned. LOL. If it showed up in the BIOS and run, I never had any problems. So do I learn something new today with them having drivers?

I tried driver magic which i got off wf but the serials where out of date lol cos it was only valid for upto year (2008 if im correct)

Also ive checked bios settings all is ok and ive cleaned lens i think it may be case of getting new drive
