I kind of know how to look for it but just want to make sure with you guys who are my experience with this.

For example, since I have a pentium 4 proccessor this is what I have selected: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813138037

will this be compatible with my CPU? What eles do I look for?

PS, I just learnd somethings about liquid cooling so I can using that withe the CPU and the GPU.

Thanks in advance!

Memory spex & amount you have now?
If it was me I'd get a new board and a new processer, and depending on the memory you already use, I'd bump that up too, big memory is cheap now.

i just bought a board that is an intel one that uses a quad processor with 8 gig of ram a 512 mb vid card with a 16mb hard drive at 10,000 rpm and built it for around 900.

i don't fool around with the smaller processors because the newer ones are becoming cheaper to buy.

Intel DP45SG Motherboard CPU Memory Bundle - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Processor , Corsair 2048MB PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz Memory (2 x 2024M

this gives you an overview of what i have. mine is 3.0 processor 16mb cache on processor. i run over 1600mhz fsb. you can build one thru pcprogress.com to get your started and then go to other sites to get your parts you need.

newegg is a good place to shop but I would consider buying a motherboard/boxed cpu bundle. On my amd the fan is included and
built to work with the cpu so I have never bought a third party fan.

I would not consider the biostar.....I really hate to say bad things about
products but that is the only board that I could not get to boot into bios.

read a lot of bad reviews about it after I bought it. Cost me 20 dollars to send back a 50 board..... bought it from tiger direct. Not that it makes any diff.

I would read all the reviews of the board you are interested in that you can find. There is always someone who likes it and those who don't. If too many don't then you might wonder why.

I decided to go with what frys electronics is selling for around a hundred, an ecs 6100 with a amd boxed cpu for about a hundred. If I saw right you have a hp case so that might need to be replaced...antec case with power supply is an idea.

Just kinna throwing it out there.. if you don't know what kind of ram you have
Or what kind of ram your current mobo supports, you can go to here: Crucial.com
And run that scan, it'll tell you what kind of ram/how much is currently installed
And then it'll tell you how much your mobo supports and what kind to use.

killa575 is an unknown quantity at this point

I currently have a ECS nforce 630i its not the best but for 50$$ it has 4GB max DDr2-800 Supports Celeron, Pentium, Pentium D, Core 2 Duo, and Core 2 Duo (Including 45nm architecture). 1 PCI-e 16x, 2 PCI, 1 PCI-e 1x. 7.1 surround capable, 6 USB, 1 RJ45, 4 SATA, 1 Eide. My only complaint on this board is memory limitation to 4gb and lack of overclocking capabilities, but a great starter board. (Oh and if u have a fat video card like the nvidia 260 and up it covers 3 of the usb slots.
