Install Linkification, this addon is a must for FF users!

You can click coded links by having it convert them to click-able on automatic or clicking the button on your FF status bar to manually linkify coded links, i recommend manually doing it because not every time it worked on automatic.

Another option (plus more) it has is double-clicking text links. This is a great alternative feature that makes opening coded text links a breeze, just have auto linkification off of course other wise it's no use, any text links you can double click and it will open the page up, never have to copy and paste a text link in your browser again.

Code:

Personal opinion is to use coded only. Live links tend to point out the forum and has caused many forums to be brought down because they are linked by live links. If they are coded, then the individual can copy and paste into notepad and download later, thereby breaking the referer link between the forum board and the link to a warez, music, or movie.

Um. Sorry, stupid question here, but how do live links bring down forums? If coding links will make WF last longer than WD, then I'll never post a live link again xD!

Btw I use FF with Refcontrol addon, so all referers say from the whatever site I'm at's homepage. Does that make a difference?

Other places can see the ref link as being from WF and then come after us for having the link. While forums aren't being brought down as often because of lawsuits against the government it can still happen.

BTW as long as the ref link is pointing to WF then its bad.

That's how several of my forums went down. Software Piracy assn, music Assn, et al found and traced the links because they were live and were able to cause my host to pull my account.

I also use No-Referer, i right click a link and "open link in new tab w/o referer" or middle mouse button does the same thing without needing to right click, another good addon i like to use in FireFox.
