I think links should be coded at least you don't have to worry about bandwidth. The server will be overloaded because of the live links. What if the links are not what they suppose to be and end up being harmful to the user. Also if you do live links make sure that they are tested before they are posted. In all actuality its like your hosting downloads and that's not a good thing. IMO

I prefer coded as I get to see what I click (I get fed up with dodgy people) and I use FF with linkification anyway

I've voted for both coded and live. It's not much hassle to put the links in, copy them and paste it into a code box. So i think anyway

I voted for only coded but I hav changed my opinion now.
I think methudmans idea is the best. A clickable and coded link joins both possibilites: You can see the full link and it is clickable.  That is an ideal solution in my opinion.
