It may not be up and running yet. You can't just enter your username and password and think it will work. You have to create an account first. After creating the account you shouldn't have any problems once it is up and running.

I'll +1 that idea to use Pidgin, except when direct connections you can see someone else's IP, and if they're on it vice versa. Sometimes it's just better to play it safe, you know? I'm having the same issue some people above me are having. I tried the account out when I got home and logged in fine but my room gets hot with the computer on all the time so when I turned it on not to long ago it tells me "Invalid username or password.". Anyway if you can offer any insight Thor I'll just check back later.

Jeff how do you register for an account.when i try to loggin to the jabber account i get a message saying wrong password or username.
Can anyone help? Mike

I managed to get connected. Just start up Spark, and create an account. Make sure that you use the username and password provided in the email (or at least that's what I did). No problems so far- connecting from Mac OS X 10.5.5

Bottom left it says accounts, you register an account via that. Once done then log in. I've logged in and I can see Mike and Jeffrie in the contacts window.
