Unhappy What to do for an Obese Cat?

Hi everyone

I have a VERY overweight cat named Sheba, and we worried it might be getting to a point where it could be seriously unhealthy for her. I can barely pick her up, and she is spayed We have two other cats, they come indoor-outdoor whenever they please, although Sheba stays inside most of the time... Does anyone have a way to get her healthier? If she even see's a laser, which our other cats like to chase, without it being lit, she runs and hides behind the tv cabinet... Same with the other toys. Any suggestions would be helpful, before we have to take her into the vet.

try to give her less food than usual an see if there is a result
cats eats all the food in the dish and u have to control the amount you give them
for not chasing toys don't worry about it some cats are just lazy and not interested in stuff like that
but if u decrease the food and she is still overweight than go to doctor for proffesional opinion

There are a few things you can do I think:

1. Like zuki said, give her less food

2. Give her more healthy food (no artificial things, no sugar, less grease)

3. Try to encourage her to move more. Encourage her to play, etc. also if she doesn't want/like that.

4. You can also go to your vet and ask for help, he can give you more tips.

But if we give less food, she eats it all and their is none for our other cats. In other words, if we give her less food, we give all the cats less food. (they share food bowls)

yes it is good idea to put her in other room with own bowl and define an amount of food for every day but don't give her more if she is eated all food u defined
i give my cat food 2 times a day and when i see she's going to overweight just give her less food and that's how i control her weight.she is also very lazy sleeps day and night and very rare play with toys

So basically, feed each cat their own food several times a day? Thanks, I'll find a website on cat nutrition and look into that.
