Smile Can cheaters change?

If a person, be it your spouse , girlfriend, boyfriend, someone you know or etc... is a cheater or has cheated do you think that they can change and if so for how long?? Here's the reason i ask..... My wife's sister recently decided to leave her husband , saying that he doesn't treat her right, which is crap but anyways she has been cheating in some form or fashion on him since there oldest child who is 5 was little and today after being "seperated" for a little over a week decided to go back to him which is great because it get's her *** outta my house lol, but she says that she's gonna stop cheating on him completely but i believe it about as much as saying George bush is the smartest man alive.. but I just wanna get people's thoughts if people can go from cheater to non cheater..... lol well thanks and leave some comments on what ya thank....

Can a leopard lose it spots? Can a zebra lose it stripes? I don't thing so. If you have built the habit of cheating on your partner it does not go away. Why? Because habits are hard to break. It's like bathing. You built the habit of bathing every morning and hopefully evening too. Now imagine if you are not to bath for the rest of your life. Totally impossible. It can’t happen.

i really don't agree. i've known people who have cheated and changed.
change happens but change does hapen not always for the best, can you honestly say your the same now that you have always been. for most people its unlikely that you will be.

I feel its all about where the "cheater" is in their life.
I am lead to believe, that cheaters cheat to 'get one up' on the person their with, the idea that "Ill get you before you get me".
I also am lead to believe, that sometimes a person my be in a relationship for security, and this could enable someone to cheat.

But I am not sure if if cheaters recover. Maybe some cheat and then stop because their at a different point in their life. So I voted yes.

Either way I would stay way from them.

But how do you know that they have changed? Only because they have said so. How can that ever be believed once someone has already deceived by cheating? Cheaters have very sneaky ways.

Tell a lie and get caught out. Cheat and get caught out. No-one would ever trust you fully ever again.

Just a little update for which proves my point.... My sister in law is still at home, BUT and it is a big BUT.... has started talking with guys on the phone and internet again as well as going out on a date with a guy she had gone to school with. So for me this just makes me believe more that people who cheat will cheat cheat cheat again. a good saying there's only two types of lairs "Those who say they don't and those who say they can stop"

Just thought you guys would like the update will write again soon...THANKS

neworder_151 is an unknown quantity at this point

I think it would be hard to stop. When you have not cheated before, there seems to always be a boundary and your conscience seems to be there. Once you have cheated it isn't a big deal anymore. You don't have that boundary saying don't do it. It is like when you are under 21 and you want to drink. Alot of kids get crazy and have fun and think it is a big deal to drink becasue it is illegal. How many people have turned 21 and now that they can buy beer it isn't a big deal and alot of people almost stop partying so hard becasue it isn't a BIG deal. Almost like it takes the fun out. Maybe bad example? But closest thing I can come up with.
