It's a sad sad day...
http://tv.yahoo.com/show/123/news/ur...hill__ER:64152 But remember, Fox cancelled Family Guy, sold the rights to Cartoon Network, then picked the series back up after DVD sales were the highest of all time for an animated series. However, King of the Hill doesn't have the drive Family Guy does. Oh well, thanks a lot Mike Judge.

Ehh, wont miss it. I only watched the first couple seasons and noticed myself not watching it anymore
I haven't watched Fox's Sunday night lineup since the beginning of this decade, I can't even remember to be honest. None of the show's were funny to me anymore, the writing and jokes became a joke. When they brought Family Guy back it was terrible, I could tell just in the first few minutes how much the writing changed, happend to the Simpsons too as 2000 came and went. A few good scenes here and there but not like it used to be. I love the 90's simpsons, and family guy season 1-3. Digg me down ![]()

The Simpsons I am 50/50 on to this day. Whenever someone says they don't watch the Simpsons anymore or that it isn't they same I agree with them, but always gear them towards 4 episodes: New Kid on the Block, Marge vs. the Monorail, Homer Goes to College and Treehouse of Horror IV. Those are hands down the BEST episodes ever. All written by Conan O'Brian. Not until this season 7 did I have a piece of doubt in Family Guy, and only in one episode. Otherwise it has kept the "it" factor that makes it as great as it in. Season 1 through 3 though? Awww c'mon... season 4, episode 12; Perfect Castaway. The episode will forever be the reason why I watch Family Guy over and over and over and over again. And I'm spent.

I hear ya and that's cool, I like the way they were in the beginning but when original writers leave that special "it" factor for me leaves as well, and the comedy changes dramatically in my view.
I like the first family guy seasons and the simpsons back then cause the writing was still fresh, ideas were in the air. Now it seems like they use a lot of current events in episodes especially with South Park, again there's some good stuff but I miss the original writing and creativity that put these shows where they are. That's just me though of course we don't all find the same things funny so like me I just move on and I still have the good ol' episodes I grew up watching that made me laugh and love the show, I dunno why I felt the need to share my thoughts but it makes for good conversation ![]()

Animated series are a dying breed anyways. KOTH would've been cancelled sooner if Family Guy never came back and American Dad wouldn't exist for the same reason (I mean c'mon... Rachel McFarlane is a voice on American Dad). KOTH is gone, Family Guy will survive for a couple more years, American Dad will be cancelled soon and Futurama is long gone. Matt Groening is basically God at Fox so The Simpsons is done when he says its done. Other than that... no animation. The Sopranos ending helped Sunday night non-cable TV and reality TV is taking over the world. Can anybody name the last 4 winners of Survivor? Didn't think so... yet the show runs and has 10+ million viewers. It blows my mind. TV shows with real people are great but are mostly about shit I don't care about. Samantha Who, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives... wtf. The Office, My Name Is Earl, Lost, Dexter, and Life are what keep me afloat. 2 and a half Men is bad ***... animated shows are, as I said: dying. WOW.

)...I just got through downloading 3 seasons of Dirty Jobs, Modern Marvels is one of my favorite series, I watch The Daily Show every night at work on hulu.com, Seinfeld/Reno 911 are awesome, Chappelle is classic and Ghost Hunters is pretty sweet for the type of series it is. I've never been a huge fan of MXC and Primetime Glick, guess I just not got into em consistently enough. I really recommend DLing the first season of Life and catching up with it through season 02, it is a great original show. I think I'll DL the Seinfeld series tonight, I haven't seen a handful of episodes and it'll be nice to go down memory lane a bit.

Dirty Jobs, Modern Marvels are great shows. Mike Rowe puts a great touch on Dirty Jobs. Another show I like is How's its Made. It isn't only the ingenuity of how things are made, it is the machines that make them. The guys who make those machines are geniuses in my book. My favoirte channels are the Discovery, Science, History and The Military Channel. You sure learn a lot from them. Also I can't leave out the SciFi Channel
